About Art'n BLOOM!

Art and creative lifestyle are part of the Hotel BLOOM! identity. Since the hotel was opened, the aim has been to support artists, and in turn guests, by offering a fresh, inspiring and unique environment.

During the time of the opening, almost all 305 rooms were blessed with a unique hand painted fresco, made by a European art student (see fresco page). Since 2012, we’ve had the pleasure of inviting some of the world’s most renowned street artists to make colorful murals in our public spaces.

Penthouse Art Space - residency program

In response to cultural budget cuts and the effects of the financial crisis on artistic production around the world, Hotel BLOOM! and Harlan Levey Projects Gallery cooperated on a new ‘artistic residency’ program since January 2015. Each month, an artist, gallery or curator is offered a place to live and work, as well as event and communication support.

Located on the 9th floor of the hotel, during the 1970’s and 80’s, the space was a presidential suite hired by celebrity clientele, such as Michael Jackson or President Ronald Reagan.  Over the years, it has become a less decadent area, which was not available for hire. In 2014, the floor was reopened as an art space, offering local and international talent a unique opportunity to work, live and exhibit. Residents host open studios, artist talks and performances to engage with other guests as well as residents from across the city.

Residency recipients to date include:

  • Petr Davydtchenko (RU) & Astrid Gnosis (ES)
  • Serena Vestrucci & Francesco Maluta (IT)
  • Esther de Graaf (NL)
  • Nathan Baker (USA)
  • Radek Szlaga (PL)
  • Sergio Bromberg (Mexico)
  • Daniel Baird (USA)
  • Max Rippon (ES)
  • TR Ericsson (USA)
  • The Holls Collective (NL)
  • Manoel Quitério (BR) & Gamze Yalcın (TR)
  • Will Barras (UK)
